Liyuan Theater
Liyuan Theater, co-sponsored by Beijing Qianmen Jianguo Hotel and Beijing Opera Company, boasts the first artistic stage in Beijing. It is big enough for 1,000 people to enjoy the Chinese quintessence — Beijing Opera. When you sit at the old fashioned square table for eight people (Ba Xian Zhuo), appreciating the singing, reciting, dance acting, acrobatics, and martial arts of Beijing Opera, you will definitely feel intoxicated by its artistic beauty. You can also visit the make-up room to see the characters preparing for the performance, which might be an interesting tour. The Exhibition and Souvenir Hall is another attractive place, where you can have a clue of the history of Beijing Opera, browse the photos of famous artists, purchase opera costumes, facial makeup, instrument, calligraphy, paintings and videos, even pretend to be a protagonist by wearing the costume and facial makeup, and take a photo with the actors. Simultaneous interpretations in English, Japanese and French are provided. Liyuan Theater is known for its brilliant Beijing Opera arts, desirable environment and excellent services.

Named after the 798 factory which was built in 1950s, the 798 Art Zone is located in the northeast corner of Beijing. It is also called the Dashanzi Art District (DAD) as it sits in Dashanzi zone. 798 Art District covers an area of 148 acres (60 hectares), with Jiuxianqiao Road to its west, Beijing-Baotou railway to its east, Jiangtai Road to its south and Jiuxianqiao Road North to its north. Characterized by modern art, it has become the exhibition center of Chinese culture and art, and also the world-famous cultural and creative industries centralized area.

Houhai Bar Street

Huguang Guild Hall
Founded by Beijing residents coming from Hunan and Hubei Provinces, Huguang Guild Hall provides a place for lodging and gathering of fellow townsmen. It has a history of over 190 years traced back to 1807 when investments were gathering for its foundation. At that time, its premier role was to host students who came to Beijing to attend the Royal Exam and officials who were waiting for their nomination. Located at the commercial area in the south of Xuanwu District, it had convenient traffic and was thus selected to host weddings and banquets. It was one of centers of political and social life in the Late Qing Dynasty, where authoritative officials and average persons had fun together, dining, chatting and watching Beijing Opera staged by famous actors.
