Our eight-day trip through Shanghai, Xi'an, and Beijing with three families was packed with unforgettable experiences. From the start, the company impressed us with how quickly they responded and how detailed the itinerary was. They really took the time to address all our questions and make sure everything was perfectly planned.
In Shanghai, our guide Jack was the perfect mix of informative and fun. He brought Yuyuan Garden to life with stories of its history, and the Old French Concession felt even more special with his insights into its unique blend of cultures. Strolling through Tianzifang’s art galleries and boutique shops was such a highlight, and Nanjing Road had this lively energy we loved. The Huangpu River Cruise was the perfect way to wrap up our Shanghai experience—the city skyline at night was just magical.
After a smooth ride on the high-speed train, we arrived in Xi’an, where Lily welcomed us with so much warmth. The Terracotta Warriors left us in awe. Seeing them up close was even more impressive than we imagined, and Lily’s deep knowledge of the site made it even more fascinating. We also explored the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and enjoyed the lively, colorful atmosphere of the Muslim Quarter, where the street food was a hit with everyone. Ending the evening at the Tang Dynasty Sleepless City was a lot of fun, with its lights and live performances making for a vibrant close to the day.
In Beijing, Mia was our guide, and she really had a knack for bringing the city's history to life. We started with a visit to a local morning market, where we got a real feel for everyday life. Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City were huge highlights, and Mia’s stories about the emperors and their lives inside the palace made everything feel so vivid. Nanluoguxiang had a more relaxed pace, with its cozy alleyways and fun little shops. It was a nice change from the grand historical sites.
The Great Wall at Badaling was an absolute standout. Standing there, looking out over the mountains, was one of those moments we’ll all remember. Visiting the Ming Tombs afterward gave us a deeper appreciation for the history of the emperors buried there.
Across all three cities, the guides—Jack, Lily, and Mia—were incredible in their own ways. They were knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made sure everything was seamless. The drivers were also fantastic, always professional and making sure we stayed on schedule without ever feeling rushed. The entire trip ran so smoothly, and we felt so well taken care of. Exploring China with our families was an experience none of us will forget.
