What an amazing 8-day journey our family just had through Shanghai, Xi'an, and Beijing! From the moment we reached out to Sam for our itinerary, we knew we were in good hands. Sam's prompt responses and attention to detail were impressive. He even took the time to consider our kids’ needs when planning our trip, which made us feel so valued as a family!
Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai
After a long flight, we arrived in Shanghai, feeling excited and a bit jet-lagged. The hotel Sam recommended was fantastic! It was comfortable and conveniently located, making it easy for us to explore.
Day 2: Exploring Shanghai
Our second day was packed with adventure! We started at Yuyuan Garden & Bazaar, where the kids loved wandering through the vibrant shops. The scenery was gorgeous, and the atmosphere felt magical. Then, we strolled through the Old French Concession and Tianzifang, soaking up the unique architecture and artsy vibe. Nanjing Road was a shopping paradise, and the highlight of the day was the Huangpu River Cruise. The view of the skyline at night was breathtaking—our children couldn't stop taking pictures!
Day 3: High-Speed Rail to Xi'an
Traveling from Shanghai to Xi'an by high-speed rail was a breeze. The kids enjoyed the fast ride and the chance to see the countryside zoom by.
Day 4: Discovering Xi'an
Xi'an was incredible! The Terracotta Warriors Museum was mind-blowing. Seeing those ancient statues up close was something we’ll never forget. Later, we visited the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and explored the bustling Muslim Quarter, where we tried some delicious local snacks. In the evening, we wandered around Xi'an Tang Dynasty Sleepless, a lively street beautifully illuminated with lights. The atmosphere was vibrant and festive, and the kids absolutely loved it!
Day 5: High-Speed Rail to Beijing
Our journey continued with another comfortable high-speed rail ride to Beijing, where we couldn't wait for more adventures.
Day 6: Experiencing Beijing
In Beijing, we started at the morning market, and the kids were thrilled to try all sorts of breakfast treats. Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City were awe-inspiring, and the historical significance of these sites resonated with all of us. We wrapped up the day at Nanluoguxiang, a lively area with shops and street food that the kids really enjoyed.
Day 7: Badaling Great Wall and Ming Tombs
The Badaling Great Wall was a highlight for everyone! Climbing up and taking in the magnificent views was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Frank, was exceptional—he made the history come alive for us and always made sure the kids were engaged. The Ming Tombs were fascinating as well, and the day was filled with learning and fun!
Day 8: Departure from Beijing
As our trip came to an end, we felt so grateful for the amazing experiences we had as a family. From Sam’s thoughtful planning to Frank’s insightful guidance, everything was perfectly arranged. The culinary journey was a highlight of our adventure; each meal introduced us to new flavors and dishes that left our taste buds dancing. From street snacks to delicious local cuisine, every bite was a delight, making our trip not only memorable but also a feast for our senses.
This trip was not just about visiting new places; it was about making memories together. If you’re looking for a well-organized, family-friendly experience in China, we highly recommend this itinerary. Thank you, Sam, for everything! We can’t wait to share our stories with friends and hopefully return one day!
