Firstly, drive you to Chengde city directly which is located in the northeast of Beijing city. It takes around 2.5 hours for one way. Upon arrive, our guide will take you to have the authentic Chengde lunch. After that, start your Chengde tour with Chengde Mountain Resort, It was built in 1703, it took 87 years to finish this resort. It is the largest imperial garden during Qing Dynasty amd be a summer resort for emperors. Over two hundred years ago Emperor Kang Xi (1662-1723) happened to find the place while making a hunting trip. The palace is surrounded by a wall over ten kilometers long, meandering along the mountain ridges. It is the largest and best-preserved imperial palace outside of the capital Beijing.
Then, you will visit the Pule Temple, it is located at the northeast of Chengde Summer Resort in Hebei Province, occupying 2.4 hectares. The temple features a combination of Chinese-style and Tibetan-style structures. The Pule Temple can be divided into two parts. The front area consists of Chinese-style structures while the rear one is mostly Tibetan-style Mandala.
After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Chengde.
After breakfast, our guide will take you to visit the Putuo Zongcheng Temple is a Buddhist temple group established in Qing Dynasty, located at the north of the Chengde Mountain Resort. It was built to commemorate Emperor Qianlong’s 60th birthday as well as his mother’s 80th birthday, and it was established after the Potala Palace of Tibet, which was built by Dalai Lama a hundred years ago. The Putuo Zongcheng Temple is one of the Eight Outer Temples of Chengde, to be specifically, the largest one.
Next, drive about 1.5 hours to visit the famous Jinshanling Great Wall, photographers know that the best place to take pictures of the Great Wall is not Badaling or Shanghaiguan, but Jinshanling. The Great Wall from Simatai in Beijing to Jinshanling in Hebei is the best preserved stretch, so many overseas visitors choose it. It is said that there are more overseas Great Wall climbers in Jinshanling than Chinese. People also say that anyone who has climbed Jinshanling is not interested in seeing any other part of the Great Wall, as it retains its original Ming Dynasty outlook, and so vividly reflects the full ethos of that epoch. Jinshanling Great Wall is the most popular hiking trip among all the sections of the wall around Beijing.
After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Beijing or drop off at Beijing train station.
