Our family trip to Beijing was nothing short of amazing, and we owe it all to Sam for organizing such a perfectly tailored itinerary for us. With my grandparents, parents, and myself traveling together, it was crucial to find a balance between exploring Beijing’s major sights and keeping a pace that worked for everyone, and Sam absolutely nailed it. The day flowed effortlessly, and we never felt like we were hurrying from one spot to the next.

Our guide Alice was the true star of the day. She was kind, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable about every corner of Beijing. From the moment we met her, we felt at ease. She kept a close eye on my grandparents, always making sure they had time to rest without making them feel rushed or left behind, while still managing to keep the experience fun and educational for all of us.

Tiananmen Square was our starting point, and it was just incredible. Standing there in the heart of the city, surrounded by such grand architecture, really put into perspective how significant this place is in China’s history. Alice shared stories about key moments that had taken place here, making it so much more than just a wide-open space.

The Forbidden City was next, and it truly lived up to its name. It was like stepping into another era. The sprawling courtyards, the intricate carvings on the buildings, and the sheer size of it all were awe-inspiring. Alice’s explanations added so much depth to our experience, and she made sure we took it all in at a comfortable pace.

At the Temple of Heaven, we were struck by the beauty of its surroundings. It felt like a place of serenity, away from the hustle of the city. Alice explained how emperors once came here to pray for good harvests, and as we walked through the lush grounds, we could almost feel the history beneath our feet.

By the time we reached the Summer Palace, it was like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The stunning views of the lake, the bridges, and the surrounding gardens created such a calming atmosphere. We took our time wandering through the pathways, appreciating the natural beauty while Alice pointed out the details that made this place so significant.

We just got back from an incredible day exploring Beijing, and I have to share how amazing it was! Our adventure started at Tiananmen Square, where we were instantly struck by its vastness. Standing there, listening to our guide Frank share insights about the significant events that took place, made us feel the weight of history. His passion really brought the square to life for us.

Next, we moved on to the Forbidden City, and it was truly something special! As soon as we entered, we were in awe of the stunning architecture. Frank guided us through the courtyards and halls, telling us fascinating stories about the emperors who lived there. We couldn’t help but feel like we were part of a royal story ourselves! It was definitely the part of the day that left the deepest impression on us—so rich in culture and history.

After that, we visited the Temple of Heaven, where we strolled through the beautiful gardens. It was refreshing to see locals practicing tai chi and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Frank pointed out some interesting details about the temple’s architecture, which added to the experience.

Finally, we ended our day at the Summer Palace. The views over the lake were breathtaking, and we loved wandering the paths and taking photos. Frank made sure we had plenty of time to explore and even suggested some great snacks to try from local vendors. His attentiveness and knowledge truly enhanced our experience.

All in all, our day was packed with unforgettable moments and new discoveries. Thanks to Frank and his excellent service, we left Beijing with a newfound appreciation for its history, especially after our time in the Forbidden City. I recently took a one-day tour in Beijing with my kids, and it was nothing short of amazing! We visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace, and I can honestly say it was a day to remember.

Starting at Tiananmen Square, my kids were in awe of its sheer size and the iconic landmarks around us. They loved hearing stories about the historical significance of the place, and I could see their eyes widen as we stood in front of the giant portrait of Chairman Mao. We took a boat ride, and my kids couldn’t stop smiling as they pointed out all the beautiful landscapes. Throughout the day, Lliy’s energy and enthusiasm made a huge difference. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure to check in with the kids to see if they were enjoying themselves. Her ability to connect with them made the tour even more enjoyable. By the end of the day, my children were buzzing with excitement and couldn't stop talking about all the amazing things they had seen.

My wife and I spent a fantastic day exploring Beijing, and we had an amazing time! From start to finish, everything was spot-on. Our guide picked us up right on time, and we kicked off the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square. Lunch was a real treat—we had the chance to taste Beijing Duck, which was absolutely delicious. It’s one of my favorite dishes, and enjoying it in Beijing made it even more special.

Then, we headed to the Temple of Heaven. It was peaceful and beautiful, and learning about its significance was a highlight. We finished the day at the Summer Palace, which was the perfect way to wind down. The gardens and lake were so serene and made for a lovely end to our day.

Throughout the tour, we felt completely taken care of. Our guide was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. The spacious car was a real plus, especially since I’m quite tall. The whole day was perfectly organized, and we really felt like we got a taste of Beijing’s best in just one day.

There will be 5 of us visiting Beijing on 6 and 7 September 2024.

As 4 of us are between 67 years to 77 years old, the pace of the tour will have to be slower than usual people. The eldest in the tour has knee issues. She can walk but will have to be slow.

We are keen to visit these places Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace and Prince Gong's mansion.

We will need an English speaking guide too.

Please advise the cost (inclusive of admission tickets) of the day trip or if 2 whole days are recommended.

My husband and I done this tour in August few days ago, the tour only for two of us, along with our driver and our guide, Shirley was amazing! She was very informative and a lot of fun to talk with about both the history of the sites that we visited such as Forbidden city, temple of heaven as well as local culture of Beijing. She even gave us recommendations for other places to visit in the next day on our own as well as a few restaurants to eat at. We had dinner at one of famous Peking roast restaurants that night and it was one of our best meals in Beijing. We're so happy we joined this tour and would recommend it to anyone else.

We had a wonderful weekend in Beijing last week after a long time at home. We live in Shanghai and work here since last september but it was our first time to visit Beijing. We booked this short day to visit the Beijing's highlights with Beijing Private Tour, we had Shirley as our local tour guide in Beijing who speaks the fluent English, she was knowledgeable and helpful througout the tour. We were picked up from our Beijing hotel at the agreed time, visit the most famous sightseeing spots in Beijing such as Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace. We enjoyed our time on each spots. After the tour, our guide Ms. Shirley helped us to get the Liyuan opera show tickets. We traveled by high speed train on last Friday, the train was unbelievable between Shanghai & Beijing, it took around 5 hours for one way. We highly recommend high speed trains If you plan to visit Beijing from Shanghai.

This tour will be your best choice if you have a limited travel time in Beijing that includes the major landmarks of Beijing city for first time visit. It was a private tour only 3 of us, which made it more personal. I hope you have Betty as your tour guide, a friendly, personable, and knowledgable Beijing local tour guide. During the day, we visited the tiananmen square from across the street, so its mostly forbidden city, summer palace and temple of heaven, all of those places were we want to see. Very convenient with hotel pick-up and drop-off, avoid all lines and makes the entire experience awesome and easy with the private tour guide service.Highly recommend and great value!

Adrian was a well informed and really helpful guide. He took lots of photos of us and was great at explaining things. We had a fabulous day with our guide and driver, and we covered the main parts of Beijing with a few additions thrown in along the way. Adrian's English is superb and he described the history of the sites and the wider China with such eloquence that it helped us to understand the people and the country, setting up the rest of our trip perfectly. Beijing is a truly amazing city but it's jewels were brought to life by Adrian. By the end of the day we felt as though we'd made a true friend in Adrian and a life-long admiration for Beijing.
