D1 Beijing Arrival

Make your own flight arrangement to arrive the capital city Beijing. Pick up service is arranged at Beijing airport (Capital International Airport or Daxing International Airport), our Beijing local guide will meet you at the exit of the airport with a welcome sign. Transfer to your Beijing downtown hotel, our guide will help you to check in. The rest day is free on your own to adjust the jet lag or explore Beijing city.

D2 Beijing

After breakfast, you will visit the visit the Forbidden City, also named the Palace Museum, shares the honor of being one of five world-famous palaces with the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in England, the White House in the U.S. and the Kremlin in Russia. A high red wall with a total length of 3,400 meters (3,718 yards) encases the palace. The palace, the most magnificent and splendid palace complex in China, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Building in 1987.

After lunch, drive you to visit the another imperial site - Temple of Heaven. The temple was constructed in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and was enlarged during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is the grandest cult architecture complex in the world and a masterpiece of the Chinese people created in ancient times. Emperors of the two dynasties used to worship the heaven and pray for rich harvests, as the feudal emperors thought they were the son of the heaven.

The last for the tour is Summer Palace, it is an imperial garden in Beijing. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites and reported that the Summer Palace is "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design”. It harmonizes plants and paths, water and land, architecture and horticulture, epitomizing the philosophy and practice of Chinese garden design.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Beijing.

D3 Beijing

After breakfast, drive you to Mutianyu Great Wall. It takes around 1.5 hours from Beijing downtown. There is an old chinese saying "If you haven't climbed the Great Wall, you haven't seen China." It is indeed an experience of life. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, Mutianyu section of Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. It's known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of a year. Once you arrive, our guide will arrange the cable for your to save your time and energy to visit the Great Wall.

Cableway in Mutianyu has a total length of 723 meters. And the upper station of it has elevation above sea level of 640 meters. Running speed of cable car is at 3.5 meter/second. The system of cable Car is fully automated. It is a comfortable, fast, safe and efficient way to tour in Mutianyu Great Wall.

In the afternoon, you will be taken back to Beijing downtown to explore the Hutong culture. You will visit the Nanluoguxiang Hutong. It's one of the best preserved historical areas in downtown Beijing, is famous for its hutong and siheyuan courtyards. Recently the popularity of Nanluoguxiang has increased noticeably with tourist numbers on the rise after 2008 Olympic Games. You will do a short walking along the authentic Beijing Hutong. A tour to visit Beijing Hutong will give you a deep impression of the local residents'live. Optional Hutong Activities: Traditional rickshaw ride (at your own expense); Local family visiting to learn some Beijing folk arts, the area’s history.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Beijing.

D4 Beijing--Shanghai

After breakfast, transfer to Beijing train station to take the train to Shanghai, it takes around 5 hours. Once you arrive, our Shanghai local guide will meet you at the exit of the train station, you will have a Chinese lunch when you arrive in Shanghai.

After lunch, head to visit the Yuyuan Garden. it is an ancient garden built over 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty. These exquisite gardens in the heart of Shanghai are an iconic example of traditional Chinese garden architecture and a popular destination for visitors to the city.

Then, you will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, in the western part of Shanghai, a very modern and flourishing city, there is a venerable and famous Buddhist temple. In 1882, an old temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen. The temple was destroyed during the revolution that overthrew the Qing Dynasty.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Shanghai.

D5 Shanghai

After breakfast, our guide will take you to explore the famou Zhujiajiao Water Town in Shanghai. Also known as the “Venice of Shanghai,” Zhujiajiao is the best preserved of the four ancient water towns in the Shanghai area. With a history dating back over 1,700 years, Zhujiajiao is full of lovely canals and waterways, small alleys, picturesque bridges, and ancient buildings, many from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Follow our experienced tour guide, you will enjoy the best part of Zhujiajiao Water Town. Enjoy a short but leisure tranditional boat cruise along the narrow waterway.

In the afternoon, drive you back to Shanghai city to experience the modern & busy life of Shanghai at Nanjing Road, as a century-old shopping street in Huangpu District Shanghai. Nanjing Road was a witness of the city's history. Over time, it has been restructured, undergoing significant changes. Big traditional stores no longer dominate the market since modern shopping malls, specialty stores, theaters, and international hotels have mushroomed on both sides of the street.

Then, take a leisure walk along the Bund to appreciate the Historical Buildings. The Bund is a mile-long stretch of waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River. To the west of this stretch stand 52 buildings of various architectural styles, including Gothic, baroque, and neoclassical styles. It is often referred to as "the museum of buildings".

In the evening, you will have the Huangpu River Cruise. All aboard the Huangpu River cruise and see Shanghai's famous landmarks from a new perspective! This one-hour cruise will take you along the famous river that separates Shanghai’s two sides (Pudong and Puxi) and gives great views of both the old and new architecture of the city. The Huangpu River cruise is one of Shanghai's most popular activities for visitors to Shanghai, so make sure you check it out.

After the cruise, you will be taken back to your hotel in Shanghai.

D6 Shanghai Departure
