The first stop for this cultural tour is Prince Gong's Mansion Beijing. Prince Gong's Mansion, aka Prince Kung's Mansion, also known as Gong Wang Fu in Chinese, is Beijing's largest and the best preserved Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) princely mansion and is located at Qianhai Xijie to the north of Shichahai. This fine example of ancient Chinese architecture with its cultural connotations is important not only for its aesthetic value but as an asset to those who wish to study the lifestyle of the privileged classes in the feudal society of a bygone era; it also has an interesting history.
Then, move on to Tsinghua University. Tsinghua is one of the most prestigious university in China. Through teaching, research and innovation, Tsinghua is committed to the advancement and well-being of the nation and the world.Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsinghua Xuetang”. The school was renamed "Tsinghua School" in 1912. The university section was founded in 1925. The name “National Tsinghua University” was adopted in 1928. With the motto of “Self-Discipline and Social Commitment” and the spirit of “Actions Speak Louder than Words”, Tsinghua University is dedicated to the well-being of Chinese society and to world development. Walking into Tsinghua Universtity to feel the culture of this college.
After lunch, the tour contunie to Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan). The Old Summer Palace in Beijing is among the many things to do in the
city. Although, as the description of the attraction states, it is
generically in a state of ruins, however, when the eye of the traveller
first falls upon these very ruins, they ignite an immediate sense of the
past of this land and its story.
The landmark in Beijing is divided into three separate gardens, which go
by the names, Garden of perfect Brightness, Garden of Eternal Spring
and the Elegant Spring Garden.
This attraction in Beijing has been left to stay in its original state
of ruins instead of being reconstructed, which is the one thing that
attracts the visitors to this place.
The last stop for the tour is Beijing Hutong-Wudaoying Hutong. Wudaoying is in its golden age, as it is still quite a mix of old-fashioned hutong life and chic Western stops. Its foot traffic is increasing rapidly and will likely be in 5 years what Nanluogouxiang is now – heavily traveled, but still full of novelty for the curious explorer. Most visitors in Beijing venture out to the hutongs, but unfortunately, they stick to the extremely touristy and crowded streets like Nanluoguxiang. While that street is a sight in itself, you’ll rarely see a Beijing local peering his head in one of the many overpriced shops.
Wudaoying is also a great starting point for further exploration in the area. It’s extremely close to both the Lama Temple and Ditan Park (Temple of Earth), as well as the stunning tree-lined Guozijian hutong. If you have a bit of extra time, I also recommend getting lost in the hutong catacombs surrounding Wudaoying. You’ll get an incredible glimpse into everyday life in Beijing’s alleyways.
After the tour, drive you back to your hotel or drop you off at Beijing train station.
