Your first stop is the National Center for Performing Arts. It is an arts centre containing an opera house in Beijing. The Centre, an ellipsoid dome of titanium and glass surrounded by an artificial lake, seats 5,452 people in three halls and is almost 12,000 m2 in size. It was designed by French architect Paul Andreu. Construction started in December 2001 and the inaugural concert was held in December 2007.
Then, drive to Beijing 798 Art Zone(around 40 minutes). 798 Art District is located in the Dashanzi area, to the northeast of central Beijing. It is the site of state-owned factories including Factory 798, which originally produced electronics. Beginning in 2002, artists and cultural organizations began to divide, rent out, and re-make the factory spaces, gradually developing them into galleries, art centers, artists' studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars.
After lunch drive you into the city center, cruise the Beijing Hutong around Nanluoguxiang Area, it is a historic street where the narrow alleyways make excellent photographic material and a great place to pick up quirky souvenirs. Over eight centuries old, this one kilometer alley way is a hub of Beijing bohemian life. Filled with cafes, bars and shops carved out of classic hutongs, it's Beijing answer to the French Quarter. Hipsters, musicians, artists and tourists rub shoulders tipping cheap beers on outdoor patios or shopping for cool, locally-designed trinkets. Pottery Shop, Grifted and Plastered T-shirts and three must-visit shops.
The last stop is CCTV Headquarters Building (FROM OUTSIDE). The CCTV headquarters aims at an alternative to the exhausted typology of the skyscraper. Instead of competing in the race for ultimate height and style within a traditional two-dimensional tower 'soaring' skyward, CCTV's loop poses a truly three-dimensional experience, culminating in a 75-metre cantilever. The building is visible from most of Beijing; it sometimes comes across as big and sometimes small, from some angles strong and from others soft. Designed by Rem Koolhaas, this stunning and sculptural edifice signifies modern, vibrant Beijing, as well as the importance of the TV industry.
After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Beijing or drop off at Beijing train station.
