Drive directly to Shidu Scenic Area (about 2.5 hours driving). Located in Shidu Town, Fangshan District, Beijing, Shidu Scenic Area is about 80km to downtown Beijing. Shidu Scenic Area, where embodies the karst topography, is the rare geoscience popularization garden in North China that features canyon, peak cluster and river valley landform, takes karst landscape and geological relic as subjects and places emphasis on patriotism education for adolescents. There are 10 river bends along the river; hence the name Shidu means 10 Ferry Crossings in Chinese.
You will visit Juma Garden ( this amuseument park opens at end of March to October every year based on the weather), it is a resort and amusement park area where you can have fun. On the way, you might notice this place very similar to Guilin. The river winds around like a snake through limestone karst formations like Gulim's Li River. But it is a much smaller and shallower river, and the karst cliff scenery isn't as grand. Still, for those tourists and expats who can't take a long trip south, it is like a miniature Guilin with accommodation and rides.
Adventurous types will enjoy the various activities (optional, on your own expense) on offer here, including bungee jumping, rock climbing, and river rafting. You may also wish to stroll around and explore all the different paintings, inscriptions, and memorials within the park. Shidu spills over into villages, with the valley making way for farm animals and scenes of rural life. Be sure to explore places such as Cottage Scenic Spot, Monkey Mountain, Wang Jingxian Valley, and Bali Valley.
Free on your own to have fun in Shidu Scenic Area. At the suitable time, drive you back to your hotel/apartment in Beijing downtown or drop off at Beijing railway station.
